It's been a little while! We finally got my son into the doctor and he thought it sounded like he had ADHD. So he prescribed Stratera for him. We started his medication on a Saturday morning. A week later he got 100% on his spelling test and got two extra bonus words right. He was sooooo proud!! It felt so great. He's been on it a little over a week now and I'm hoping he will continue to do well.

No TV. Day 13
Having a good time with kids. They are playing a lot more. That means more messes for me. I'm making sure they clean up though and today they did a big clean up. I hate it when my house gets lost. It's hard to catch up sometimes! Well it's looking a little better. Need to do more.
I got the kids a library card for valentines day. Then took them Saturday. They got three books each and are so happy. They are all reading their books. I'm thinking we will be going back this week.
Had a Cutco guy come out for a "demo" today. I don't know why they say that... It's a sales pitch. I hate it. Of course we bought $300 worth of knives! Sheesh. I had some already so he didn't push it. It is good stuff but I just hate people coming to my house to sell me stuff. Feel obligated to buy stuff! Ugh!! Irritating!!!! Feel played. But I'm excited to get my new knives. Got a vegetable knife and a few others as well as the kitchen shears. They are good scissors.

No TV. Day 10
Not a problem!! Ha!! Really it hasn't been a fight. I'm very pleased at how easily they are adjusting.
Funny thing though. We went on a tour today to the local news station for a cub scout activity. And then tonight we watched a little news so we could see the people and news set we just visited. But that doesn't count as them watching a tv show because they were only looking for things they saw earlier. It was a great tour.

No TV. Day 8
We have been getting used to this more and more! My husband and I watch it in the evenings but it doesn't get turned on during the day at all. It's nice. Getting homework done completely before the last day. Imagine that! My oldest said that he liked it! The younger two are not missing TV at all. There is more noise in my house. But it's worth it I think.
Tiramisu
Homemade... My favorite!! It's heaven in your mouth and a life changing experience! Pretty easy just a lot of mixing. I don't cook mine on a double boiler. Just straight in the pan.

No TV. Day 6
Beginning of Day 6. Yesterday was a great success! Kids and I left to do some errands and I stopped to let them play at a park. They are making more messes around the house but I think they are having more fun. I think the best thing that is happening is they are more present. They are DOING more things, rather than sitting like stumps watching TV. We didn't even watch the movie we were going to watch. It wasn't that big of deal. My oldest has been reading like crazy. He is only 10 but can read faster than I can! That's not saying a lot but I'm not a slow reader. He amazes me. He has started two books this past week: Harry Potter Book 6 and some book about the Reflections Edge?? He finished the Edge book and is half way done with HP book. So proud of him!! I didn't discover reading till I was probably his age and was pretty slow. My parents never encouraged me to do much. It's a wonder I finished college. I think the reason I did was because they always said that if I don't stay in school I'll be dropped from their insurance. So since I didn't have a job that provided health insurance, I stayed in school, not knowing what else I was going to do! Crazy. Anyway. Another tangent!! But!! The kids have also been doing more chores - chores that they should always do but time slips away and then they are not done. Happens to me too if I sit in front of the TV all day. Nothing gets done. How can it?
So back to our Sunday morning clean up!! :-)
